New Year, New Blazer

Velvet Blazer (similar) | Bra Top | Levi's Jeans | Studded Flats

Regardless of how it may look, I did not lose my shirt before taking these photos. I am OBSESSED with the velvet trend and have been searching for the perfect velvet statement piece to add to my wardrobe. Alas! I came across this beautiful blazer from Fate by LFD while shopping around Abbot Kinney. I got it New Years day and since I had yet to come up with a New Years outfit (very unlike me) I figured it was meant to be! Especially around this time of year boutiques are the best places to get the items that didn't make it under the tree. The sales are plentiful and the pieces are priceless. This jacket, which I got 40% off (wow), was my best find so I felt it deserved a post. The rest of the outfit is made up of mostly staple pieces, but does it really matter? The jacket is meant to steal the show. Though the holidays are over *cries* but the finds will rock your closet far beyond the season.

Honestly not sure how I made it this long without getting myself a velvet blazer but am so happy I waited for this one! Not only is it the best shade of red velvet I've seen, but the sale price sealed the deal. Sadly this exact jacket isn't ava…

I linked some of my favorites below so you can get yoself a fab velvet blazer! First link is also by Fate by LFD but a different color so check check it out!

I wanted to keep the pairings simple but to maintain a balance throughout I chose to wear some of my favorite statement shoes from Jeffrey Campbell x Free People. The first time I saw these shoes I was a tad worried they would be difficult to pair since they do have a lot going on. Weirdly in pairing them however I've found the opposite. If you're a fan of whimsical styles like me these shoes are perfect to pair with other statement pieces. They catch your eye, but don't draw attention away from the rest of the look. And of course because none of my outfits feel complete without them lately, I threw on a pair of tights to keep the pizazz factor going from head to toe!
